Albano Olivetti from France won 6-4 7-6(5) against Dimitar Kuzmanov from Bulgaria at the Santa Marina Cup final yesterday at the Santa Marina Tennis Centre. It was a close match, with Olivetti struggling to hold off severe fightback from Kuzmanov, but the second deciding set was in favour of the French tennis player who is also known for setting the second-best record for fastest serve with 257.5 km/hour back in 2012.
Albano Olivetti was awarded champion of the third edition of the tournament with 15 000 USD prize money by the FPI Hotels & Resorts CEO, Mr. Nikola Petkov. Olivetti and Kuzmanov won also 18 and 10 points respectively for world ranking.
The tennis programme continues in the month of May in the green comfort of the Santa Marina tennis resort. Coming up next on May 19 through 21st is the FPI Green Cup for amateurs that will take the two individual winners straight to this year’s edition of Wimbledon in July.
Next on schedule is the Weekend Tour Santa Marina Open II (May 26-28) also for amateurs.
The month will end with the FPI Bowl (May 30-June 1) for little champions up to 10 years, where the winner will be awarded a visit to the Netherlands to play the Dutch Bowl International, which is part of the Ten-Pro Global Junior Tour and one of the most prominent world competitions for kids aged up to 11.
The 2017 Outdoor Season is being organized with the kind cooperation of the Bulgarian Tennis Federation, the Municipality of Sozopol, Tennis24.bg, Angel’s Estate, Isostar, 17+, the National Tennis League and the Interactive Tennis League.
